Not sure how many people will find use in this info, but back in the good old days, (the 70's,80's) Most car radios used a speaker system that only ran 1 wire from the radio toward the speakers. Instead of having a ground wire for each speaker, they simply added a ground at each speaker. This is called a floating ground

Anyway this little video will show how to wire up a modern radio with individual grounds to an older car. You will need to add a small unit in between the radio and the wiring, but they are cheap and plentiful.
