I recently picked up yet another 2 meter radio and hooked it up to my directional 2 meter antenna only to find out the exact same thing that I realized years ago when this video was made. There is no activity on 2 meters in my area.
Certainly there are areas of the country where 2 meter still is booming... At least I hope there is, but I can't possibly recommend someone spend the money to purchase a new 2 meter setup anymore.
A sign that interest in the hobby is fading I'm sure, and I'm sure there will be some hate here, but I have to say CB is going to give the end user a lot more fun these days for the average user.
